6th Post: Anne Frank

5-B
Act 1, Scenes 1-3: What do you think would be the hardest part of life in the Secret Annex: the fear of discovery, the need to keep silent for hours at a time, the sharing of cramped quarters with strangers, or some other aspect? Explain.
I think the hardest part for me to live in the Secret Annex is being discovered. Especially at night if there is a thief, you cannot make a single movement or the thief will hear. While I was watching the movie, I felt the excitement and the fear when the cat was roaming around and making noises. And when the Germans found them and were breaking in, I felt the fear and the horror that they have been found and that it was over for some of them. The fear of being discovered is the hardest part because that is the reason why they are keeping silent on some hours, wearing socks, and being silent. Another hard part while living in the Secret Annex was relationships between each family and person. There were many fights and arguments between each other and families and it would be hard to maintain peace because of the hard times they are in. Also, since some of them don’t know each other and there are different age and gender, it would be harder to cooperate and to get along. Different families can fight a lot because one family will always support themselves and the other family will support themselves. For example, there is a cake. One family’s wife decides to cut it but she could cut bigger pieces for her family and small pieces for the other family and vice versa. This could lead to a fight between who is trustworthy of cutting the cake.
