5th Post: Anne Frank

5-A
Act 1: “But always remember this, Anneke. There are no walls, there are no bolts, no locks that anyone can put on your mind.” Explain what you think the statement means. Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?
I think this means that even though Anne can’t go outside and play, her mind is free from all things. Her mind is free from danger and harm and from the Nazis. She can do whatever she wants with her imagination. Her mind can be free but her body cannot. I think Mr. Frank tells this to Anne because even though you are hiding from danger and there are bolts and walls that contain you, they cannot contain your mind. Your mind can be free and you can think of any ideas and can think of anything you want. I agree with this statement or what Mr. Frank says. No one can contain her mind or anyone’s mind. Your mind and imagination is yours and yours alone. There are walls and bolts and locks that could contain your physical body but it cannot contain your mental thoughts. People can try to change your mind on things but only you can choose what to do with your mind. People can only try or persuade or maybe even torture you, but people can only TRY and not DO. Only you can DO.
