2nd Post: So Far From the Bamboo Grove

The setting of changes during the book. The first setting was in a bamboo grove in Nanam, North Korea. That was the house where Yoko and her family lived. Then, the Russians came and so they had to go to Seoul on a train. The train was also a setting because they stayed on it quite a long time. The train was bombed and the engines blew up so Yoko and her sister and mother walked to Seoul. They walked near the train tracks and followed it and that was one setting also. They then went to the Seoul station and they spent a few days there and that was a setting also. Another setting is in Pusan station where they wait for Hideyo becasue he was left behind because he was working in the factory. As you can see, there are many settings in this book.

Wassup man~! How are you doing? =D
anyway..time to get to the point.

Wow there are a lot of settings in your book. In "When My Name was Keoko," the setting is mainly in Korea and a little bit in Japan. I bet the characters in "So Far From the Bamboo Grove," they move a lot and have to move again for many different reasons. In my book, they aren't really able to move or else the Japanese might think that they are part of the resistance group and they have no where to go if they move at all. I think that the setting affects the character and the story a lot. For example, in my book, Sun-hee's family are in Korea so they have to suffer from the Japanese occupation. If they were in America, they would be fighting to get rid of the Japanese and not the victims.

So anyways.... cool blog~! ;D
cya later alligator! haha =P
